Toy Drive Update

A few things.

First, please read the comments of the toy drive post below for wonderful ideas on what to send and what not to send.

Next, we are working on an address for those living outside the US to send things to.

Gently used toys are acceptable, please clean/wash them before sending.

All boxes and toys will be completely inspected before being handed out to the children. Iraq is a dangerous place still and we don't want to be responsible for any problems.

A big thank you to the far too numerous to mention websites that have linked to this. Although I must thank instapundit by name as Glenn's megasite has driven a large number here as well as Josh Chafetz from Oxblog for being the first to link to us. Josh was guest blogging at The Volokh Conspiracy when he linked to us.

Another thanks for a wonderful suggestion by a reader whose children have created a flyer to pass around to get people involved. Here is the flyer if you are interested. Again, thanks to Ree-C (mom), Libby Maddie and Jack (the kids).

Finally, some interesting coincidences...

Again, let me say, "WOW!" The response so far has been incredible! I'm shocked, humbled and gratified at the response so far. As I forward this information on to the Chief, I'm getting the same response from him. I also hope everyone will be patient as this continues to grow and develop.

UPDATE: Ron McCabe sent the following on Crayons:

From the Crayola website -

Crayola crayons begin to soften at around 105 degrees Fahrenheit. The melting point is the same for all regular Crayola crayons, however, because of the density and amount of pigment included in various crayons, the thickness or viscosity of the mixture will vary.
