Antics in Korea 08/08/03

As some of you know, Chief Wiggles, besides being an interrogator, is a Korean linguist. He is considered one of the best in the US military at this current time.

Because of this, we have provided some links on the blogroll to blogs that discuss current politics and the situation in Korea in general. As many of you know, the situation in Korea is not particularly stable at this time with North Korea involved in various antics.

If you are interested in this current hotspot like we are, let us direct you to some of the dialogue that has been taking place recently on blogs dedicated to Korea.

First, at the Marmot's Hole, he has a wonderful entry and news round up of the latest anti-American protest. While small, it has caught the attention of the media over there and annoyed the US as the student protestors broke into a firing range, potentially endangering themselves and others.

Next, a wonderful commentary on the recent WSJ editorial discussing the possiblility of war in Korea. While currently not linked to this site on our blogroll, his commentary is quite good. We might need to rectify this in the near future. The article he discusses is the WSJ OpinionJournal article, titled "The Next Korean War" by R. James Woolsey (CIA Dir., 93-95) and Thomas G. McInerney ("a retired three-star Air Force lieutenant general and former assistant vice chief of staff, is a Fox News military analyst.

Finally, please read the fabulous fisking done over at IncestousAmplification. Kevin shreds a recent Boston Globe article trying to instruct the current administration on how to handle North Korea.

The situation in Korea is always volitile and currently seems even more so. While we continue to work and strive in the Middle East, we should continue to watch these other hotspots.
